Notes: Born
under the Eclipse, she is a Whisper of Rekura. Her Elemental Mutation
is visible in the bones that grow from her body. Acting as armour, or
adornments, the bones shift and grow at will. She can cover the
entirety of her body in a shell of bone, or sprout deadly bone spikes
from any part of her body. She is never without a defence, and never
without the confidence that comes with being invincible against those
who mean her harm.
She can create and control bone at will. The bones she create can only
be created on her, but she can manipulated the bones in other living
things as well. She can splinter or break the bones in others with just
a thought - or cause their rib cage to pierce their organs. Bones, big
or small, are hers to control.
The larger bone that runs along her back and tail can be detached from
her body, and turned into a bone puppet of equal size to herself. She
can control it fully, and it will protect her until all of it's bones
are dust... and perhaps, even beyond that.
Having grown up on Arkuras, they were given a Sensor to act as a
companion and guide during their stay. Each Sensor is bonded to only
one individual, so it will only respond or interact with it's bonded.
While it can talk, Sensors are not really alive. They have the illusion
of personality, but aren't capable of making their own decisions. They
have a mission, and they follow it to completion. In the case of the
WoRs, they were tasked with watching over them and helping them to
survive. Sensors are invulnerable to outside harm - meaning, only their
bonded can hurt them.
In order to survive a world that didn't have food, each WoR was fitted
with a Siphon. An amulet placed on the back of the shoulders/spine,
with a trail of visible energy. It worked by absorbing nearby energies
and infusing the WoR with them. They'll never need to eat or drink, as
long as they're around living things or places of power (like The
Towers were). Eating food would have no benefit, and might lead
the WoR to feeling sick.
Siphons should not be removed. They're attached to the spine's nervous
system, so removing them would paralyze and potentially kill a WoR.
History: Taro's
always been aware of her differences in comparison to the other WoRs.
She was born with a natural defence that gave her power over her own
destiny, and she wasn't going to let any of the others put that in
jeopardy. When Granite, a Nightmare Kat, tried to mess with her waking
mind she didn't catch it immediately. It was a subtle shift in her
thinking, a rise in paranoia, that caused her to see the other WoRs as
planning something against her. She heard conversations that didn't
happen; saw things that weren't real. She was convinced that Elm was
planning to freeze her to death, that Kyanite was going to drown her,
that Prasiolite was going to eat her, and that Citrine was going to set
her aflame.
She wasn't going to let them do it. She wasn't going to die without taking them with her!
Granite smiled. The visions grew ever darker, the plans became more
sinister and detailed. Taro was going to mad with paranoia, and she
couldn't trust anyone. Even Luuntao was on her list of possible
murderers, and she pulled away from the group. Isolated herself more
and more, until the day Granite slipped. She'd been messing with the
waking minds of some of the other WoRs. Henbane and Sassafras both
caught her when she tried to manipulate them. They attacked her, and
Taro thought they meant to kill her instead.
She lashed out, striking at the bones in Henbane's right leg and
tearing the limb from the Jinx's body. She fell, mad with rage and pain.
Sassafras, seeing the threat, used her power to strike both Taro and Granite down. She fell unconscious.
Taro woke up alone, next to bloody sand, and in a world that was
beginning to clear of paranoia. She limped back to the others to find
out that Henbane and Sassafras had survived, but Granite was said to
have been torn apart and eaten by the Swarm. "The Swarm didn't kill
her," she hissed in quiet realization, as she looked upon the Evil Kat
she knew to be guilty of the murder. But with her head clearing from
Granite's manipulations, she couldn't find it in herself to care. She
hoped the death had been a painful, drawn-out affair.
Settling back into things had been hard. Though she could tell the
paranoia had been caused by an outside force, Taro could never fully
shake it. She remained suspicious of the others, and only trusted the
strength of herself to keep her alive.
When Balsam froze, she looked at Elm shrewdly. When Birch died, she
glared at Citrine. When Agate drowned, she snarled at Kyanite. When the
Swarm came closer, she bared her fangs at Prasiolite.
Guilty or not, she blamed them for the deaths. No matter what the
evidence said, she couldn't shake the similarities to the visions
Granite cursed her with.

IriKan Information
Morality: Neutral
Notes:
The Siphon prevents the IriKan from being able to take physical form.
It exists as a presence in the WoR's mind/soul, and can
communicate freely with their bonded WoR. They can, at times of great
peril or when emotions are running high, temporarily possess the Sensor
that is bonded to their WoR - allowing for them to interact with the
world and speak to others outside their bondmate.
